It's time to wake up! Friday morning is a great time to come up with innovative designs for social games. Join this live, interactive game design jam led by veteran game designers, get your ideas rolling and learn new game design methods! Members of the audience will join teams led by experienced game designers. Each team has 30 minutes to work on their idea and turn that diamond in the rough into a game pitch for a new social game. The Jam culminates with one minute pitches for each game that will be judged. You'll have fun and learn valuable methods for collaborative game design and applying social mechanics in casual games. Former creative director of 10tacle Studios Belgium, Stéphane Bura is now a videogame industry consultant. He has been a professional game designer for 20 years – starting as a tabletop role-playing game writer and board game designer – and joined the videogame industry 12 years ago. Franz STRADALFranz STRADAL (email)

Franz has been part of the German games industry for almost a quarter of a century. Starting out as a programmer and making his way to design then running the development studio, he has designed top ten titles like Sacred and Demonworld and over 20 other title over the years. Known for his unconventional methods, Franz has been a never ending fountain of game ideas big and small for all platforms and genres. Franz currently works for Metaversum’s 3D world Twinity. This visionary project mashes up the real with the virtual world. Members of the Twinity community enrich and expand their lives by integrating their real life into the virtual world. Twinity is set to launch this summer and is currently in private beta.

David ROHRLDavid ROHRL (email)

David Rohrl is the Executive Producer at Playdom who oversees the studio focused on new intellectual property. Rohrl has over 15 years of game development experience and previously occupied senior production and game design roles at Zynga, PopCap, EA/Pogo and The Learning Company. He has produced more than two-dozen published titles—most notably, Word Whomp and Tumble Bees —and has served as managing producer on a dozen more. A respected industry thought leader, Rohrl oversees the annual Casual Games Summit and speaks regularly at major industry events.


Craig BRANNONCraig BRANNON (email)

Craig has been involved in the game industry for over 17 years, having designed and produced more than 30 published games. As Vice President of Development at Legacy Interactive, he oversees multiple production teams and continues to be very much involved in all aspects of the game design and content creation in all of Legacy`s PC and console games. Craig has a proven track record in producing entertaining titles from well-known existing licenses (such as Law & Order, CSI: NY, The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes and Murder, She Wrote). He also has been instrumental in the creation of Legacy’s original intellectual property with such titles as Emergency Room, Pet Pals and Zoo Vet. Dr. Brannon earned his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Jussi LAAKKONENJussi LAAKKONEN (email)

Jussi is the CEO and founder of Everyplay, a social gaming startup, developing a portfolio of titles for Facebook including Kamu World, a virtual world. Before founding Everyplay, he was the business development director for Bugbear Entertainment, a leading racing game developer. In his role at Bugbear, Jussi closed several multimillion-euro game deals, produced console and handheld games, introduced agile processes and filled the dishwasher.

For over 15 years, Jussi has been an entrepreneur and the main organizer of ASSEMBLY, an annual 5000 person demo/LAN party in Finland. He is also the vice-chairman of the Finnish Association of Game Developers.
