The focus of this session will be practical approaches to casual game development in HTML5. Topics covered will be: Types of games particularly suited (and NOT suited) to HTML5 as it is today. Tips to reduce development efforts, avoid pitfalls and how to optimize development aspects like: game engines and libraries, mobile porting, multiplayer support and Social Network integration. All these concepts will be illustrated with top HTML5 games.

Rakesh is the co-founder of CodeWalla, a game development Studio and Tresensa, a game development tools company.
With his latest venture Tresensa, Rakesh is building an HTML5-based platform that enables developers to author, publish and monetize casual/social games across the Web, mobile devices and connected televisions.
Rakesh has been developing games, simulations, consumer software and animation tools since 1993. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and University of Illinois at Chicago and has worked at RealNetworks and Walt Disney Feature Animation.
