Everybody has heard of rapid prototyping, but like any process it has its different variants and methods of execution. In this talk, Sara Santillan discusses rapid prototyping in Boomzap: virtual, quick, and dirty. This method enables the designers to test their ideas and for the artist to get a better grasp of how to execute the art, animation and effects. This lessens the need for extensive documentation as the build itself is used to communicate across the team.

Sara is a game designer at Boomzap Entertainment. As a game designer, she coordinates both the technical and creative aspects of a project’s design, including scripting in behavior and conceptualizing a game from start to finish. Her first project was Otherworld: Spring of Shadows, a casual hidden object adventure game which was released to rave reviews for its beautiful artwork and innovative design. She has been making games as a hobby since her childhood.
