Flourishing HTML5 Platform Now Open To External Game Developers

Casual Connect, Seattle, WA  – Jul 24, 2012 – Tylted, one of the mobile web’s leading communities for social and casual gaming, today announced that it is opening up its platform to external game developers, offering a new and direct route to users, and a proven alternative to the iOS and Android app markets.

As the Company expands and diversifies beyond its 35 titles, it now seeks to build on the success of its HTML5 platform by partnering with developers looking to publish their own games on the mobile web. Tylted is currently reviewing titles and open to new submissions. The process is designed to be easy for developers, non-exclusive and easy to port.

“We want the games development community to realize that a viable mobile gaming ecosystem exists apart from Apple and Android,” CEO Lon Otremba said. “Developers wishing to publish and monetize their own games on the mobile web need not rely only on the app stores.”

Tylted’s latest release, Cubugs, proved that its new HTML5 platform is giving apps a run for their money. Reaping the benefits of Tylted’s massive audience and scale on the mobile web, the game attracted more than one million unique players in its first 33 days at an average of ten minutes per session.  With 30,000 unique players each day, Cubugs is the equivalent of a “Top 25” download in the Apple App Store[1].

Unlike app-based games, HTML5-based games do not require a download or registration — they’re ready for immediate play on any mobile device connected to the web. Tylted’s platform allows for games to be completely cloud-based, meaning you can start playing a game on one device then seamlessly transition to another.

“If you think you have built a great game for the Tylted platform, we want to hear from you,” said Otremba.
